How to determine your skin type

Sensitive Skin Type

Sensitive Skin

Often times, a person with sensitive skin will experience a very dry feeling, burning, redness, itching, or some other negative characteristic. In most cases, this will be in response to using some kind of product such as a particular brand of soap, deodorant, or cosmetics.

Someone that has a sensitive skin type should be careful about the kind of products they use on their skin. If some particular type of soap irritates the skin or causes it to be dryer or less moisturized, you may consider changing products. Do this until you find something else that works better.

For instance, some soaps are formulated to be more moisturizing and will be a better choice for someone that has a more sensitive type of skin. Applying a moisturizing product on the skin after showers may also be of benefit.

If you have really sensitive skin, you may want to use products which are simpler and all-natural. Products with too many synthetic ingredients and other hard-to-pronounce words should be avoided. It is important for an individual with this type of skin to experiment and find out what works best for them.
